Well, Dirk and I got a phone call we weren’t quite prepared for. This past Wednesday, St. Louis Children’s Hospital called and told us we needed to bring Devin back down for another test on his left kidney. Basically, the hydronephrosis has gotten worse, and it has spread to his ureter. We go back down next Saturday for a test in which they inject a little bit of dye in his bladder, and watch by x-ray to see if it goes up into his kidney. We are not looking forward to it, but feel that since we have to get it done, St. Louis is where we want it done. From what the nurse said, it won’t be painful, just uncomfortable. Dirk and I are trying to prepare ourselves, and I know I personally just want to hold him tight, and not let go!
Developmentally, Devin has been great! He was laughing tonight, and has started laughing more and more. He is such a happy baby, and we can’t beat the fact that he sleeps through the night. This past week, I had to wake him up all but one morning. Oh, and yesterday, Devin had on a 6-9 month sleeper… and it fit!!! YIKES!
Devin continues to amaze both of us, make us smile, and just makes our days! He is awesome, amazing, and just plain wonderful!!! I can’t get enough of him!!!!
