Last Tuesday I had my weekly appointment with Dr. Bradley. I was somewhat irritated, frustrated, scared, and just tired after my appointment. First of all, they did an ultrasound to find out how big the baby is getting. Their measurements came to 7 pounds, 6 ounces! Also, although I've been having very bad hip pain, I hadn't dilated anymore! He said I'm thinning, and that he could feel the baby's head, but I hadn't dilated anymore. This was very frustrating to me! I came home, and had my first "break down" to Dirk about being done, and that I just wanted to have this little (or big) guy! A cool think from the appointment was that I got to see the baby wave in front of his face. Very cute!
I'm doing better now, relaxing about the whole thing and am trying to continue to enjoy my last few weeks of pregnancy. Big Foot has been very active, and responds to Dirk's voice, which I love! Here is the conversation Dirk and Big Foot had earlier this week:
Dirk: Hey little guy....
Big Foot: Movement
Dirk: Are you being good to mommy?
Big Foot: Movement
Dirk: Are you going to listen to me when you come out?
Big Foot: NO movement....
We both laughed quite a bit over this one!
Overall, I think Dirk and I are both ready to just know WHEN the big event is going to take place. Dirk has been a WONDERFUL husband.... making fun of my walking (or waddling), making sure I'm not over doing it, rubbing my lower back, and just being very understanding. He's gonna be such a wonderful father....
